I help organisations turn complex business needs into clear direction for digital products – connecting business, users and technology to create structure and move development towards valuable digital solutions.
Selected experience
Experience from Volvo Cars, AstraZeneca & Evinova — across Automotive, Logistics and Life Science.
I bring structure to product development – aligning stakeholders, shaping and prioritising backlogs, and helping teams focus on what creates the most value.
I uncover and structure complex needs, turning them into clear requirements that connect business intent with product development – from discovery to detailed requirements and traceability.
I help organisations navigate complex digital development – creating shared understanding, resolving ambiguity and helping teams move from business need towards valuable digital solutions.
I joined as Product Owner at a point where the product had been through several changes in direction, team setup and product structure. Requirements were well specified, but it was difficult to establish what had actually been implemented, tested and was ready for release.
With development already moving at pace, I worked closer to the engineering team – clarifying needs during development, improving visibility of product direction, and working with the Engineering Lead on sprint priorities and clear sprint goals. In parallel, I worked to improve backlog structure, requirement status and traceability following a rapid migration into a new Jira structure.
Outcome All requirements have now been analysed and tested, and both the team and Product Management have a clearer view of product status and what remains. The team works more proactively from the backlog rather than task by task, and the product is now in the final stages towards a production release.
My years at Volvo Cars shaped much of how I work as a Product Owner today.
I started with My Volvo, working between Marketing and IT in one of Volvo Cars' early Scrum-based digital product environments. Business initiatives were shaped using Lean principles and translated into iterative development together with the IT team. Working closely with a strong, self-organising development team taught me the value of trust, clear priorities and staying close to the people actually building the product.
I was later asked to take over Product Ownership for volvocars.com following a major platform transformation. The project had delivered a new global platform, but there was no established development organisation or structured backlog for continuous development.
Together with IT and our technology partner, I helped establish the product development setup – initially one, and soon two, distributed development teams. As lead Product Owner, I worked with priorities, requirements and problem solving across central Marketing, IT, development teams and major regional stakeholders in US, EMEA and APAC.
The teams continuously evolved the global customer experience, including a major redesign of the vehicle Product Detail Pages and more dynamic and personalised content across volvocars.com.
Outcome A transition from project-based platform delivery towards continuous, iterative product development, with established development teams, backlog and ways of working for evolving a global digital platform.
My later Volvo Cars roles broadened that experience into Usage Insights and backend product development – including web analytics and product dashboards, APIs and digital services consumed by other development teams, and work around Product Information Management.
As Business Analyst in a major transformation of a logistics company's core systems, I worked from business processes and business requirements through to detailed requirements for development.
Having previously worked as a developer on operational logistics applications gave me a strong understanding of both the business domain and the technology behind it.
Outcome A structured link between business processes, business requirements and the detailed requirements needed by development teams rebuilding business-critical systems.
Product Ownership and Business Analysis in digital clinical products and regulated environments, working across product, business and technology with complex requirements and distributed teams.
Several years in Product Ownership, Business Analysis and application management for global digital products – from volvocars.com and customer-facing services to backend capabilities and product information.
Business Analysis in a large-scale transformation of business-critical logistics systems, building on earlier hands-on experience as a software developer in the same domain.
Earlier experience Software Development · Application Management · Product Management · Analytics
My career spans different industries and business environments – experience that gives me a broad perspective when connecting business needs, users and technology.
About Petter
I'm Petter Engerö, founder of Midisada AB and a senior Product Owner and Business Analyst based in Göteborg, Sweden.
I've spent more than 25 years working with digital development – starting out as a software developer and gradually moving closer to the intersection between business, users and technology.
What has stayed constant is that I enjoy understanding how things fit together. Asking the right questions, finding structure where things are unclear, and helping people with different perspectives reach a shared understanding of what needs to happen next.
I've worked in everything from global automotive and logistics to regulated Life Science environments. Different industries and different challenges – but complexity, collaboration and the need for clarity tend to be remarkably similar.
When I'm not working, you'll often find me outdoors – preferably sea kayaking somewhere along the Swedish west coast.
